UK Power Networks had paused their non-essential works including: helping move electricity meters, installing smaller new connections to the electricity network, working at non-critical construction sites and tree trimming. Elexon estimates since the lockdown has been in place, energy demand has fallen between 15-19% compared to a similar period last year when there were no restrictions. They have provided guidance to suppliers on how to adjust consumption estimates in light of business closures.
