Energy Connection Services

Firstly, we can report that for the ECS team it’s been business as usual throughout lockdown – albeit our team moved to home working. We were fortunate to be ahead of the game – having planned ahead to enable remote access to all of our systems. With the necessary infrastructure in place, we had a smooth transition from office to home working when the lockdown began.

Understandably, the agents and contractors who implement the utility services that we manage, have had to limit the physical works that they deliver during lockdown.

In essence, only emergency or ‘essential’ works have been carried out. Any dangerous or emergency situations were attended to as a matter of urgency as normal.

In addition, works to support key functions across the NHS and other frontline agencies, which are deemed essential, have also been scheduled and delivered. We were thrilled to help Water Direct to get their new facility up and running in record time to support their work with NHS Nightingale in London.

In terms of scheduling ‘non essential’ works, we have continued to send requests to agents to be held in a queue until such time as scheduling recommences.

We are pleased to report this week we are starting to hear that some field agent activity restrictions are being eased in line with the easing of the lockdown rules in England. Field activity across Wales and Scotland will be updated in line with their own local restrictions.

We keep in regular contact with agents to understand how their services are being reinstated as Government advice is updated. For your reference we included a couple of links to some handy update information below.

Please continue to contact us about existing or new projects, and we will be happy to advise you on the latest state of play.

For now, we wish you all good health, stay safe and look forward to speaking to you soon.
