ECS are delighted to be celebrating eight years in business, and want to say a big ‘thank you’ to all of our clients, partners and providers for your support over the years.
Because the number 8 is considered to be lucky, as well as a symbol of prosperity, in both Chinese and western cultures, we are especially excited to mark this event and share our success.
The word for ‘8’ in Mandarin (ba), sounds extremely similar to the Chinese word that means ‘wealth’ and ‘to prosper’. The number eight is said to represent the feeling of inclusion. The number eight is also symbolic of balance.

Energy Connection Services came into being back in 2008, when BizzEnergy ceased trading. Having proven the value of a dedicated approach to connections whilst at Bizz, Gareth found that his phone continued ringing after Bizz’s demise, with requests to manage connections projects.
Originally created as a one-man business, ECS was only ever envisaged to be a small operation, continuing Gareth’s work delivering new connections for business customers.
However, over the months, word of mouth from happy clients spread and demand grew for his expertise and knowledge of the connections process. Now, eight years later, ECS has grown and has a team specialising in multi utility connections across the UK, BNO networks and Smart Metering programs.

Since 2008, ECS has continued to evolve and we are happy to have grown organically as a business, in line with demand for our personal service in an industry fraught with regulation, red tape and often lengthy delivery timescales.
We are pleased to have been rewarded for the consistent, honest and professional way we do business. We have numerous clients who retain us for all of their utility works from new stores, expansion of existing outlets, upgrades, downgrades and disconnections.
With the addition of our dedicated BNO arm, we are now working at the forefront of the industry. We are keen to continue influencing the industry, helping to guide and shape working practices to improve the customer experience. We are stakeholders on delivery partner committees such as UK Power Network’s BNO forum, SSE and Electricity North West which enable us to do just that.
Sharing our success
To help us mark our 8th birthday and celebrate our success, we are supporting eight charities with projects in our local communities. So far we have already:
- helped a local lady to recover from a hip replacement by sourcing a walker via Pershore Rotary Club, and providing a wheelchair and a bed for her carer.
- donated a 40” Ultra HD TV to a Promises Auction to support a competition group to travel to Paris.
We will be picking eight of our current customers’ names out of a hat, giving them the opportunity to nominate a charity of their choice for us to make a donation to.
ECS staff names will also be picked out of a hat to select their chosen charity to benefit from a donation.
We are always looking for similar worthy incentives, donating anything from £88 – £888.
