ESOS – Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme

January 2015 sees the window open for all ESOS (Phase 1) qualifying organisations being required to carry out assessments and notify their compliance to the Environment Agency.

In order to avoid penalties for non-compliance, all first full ESOS Assessments must be completed by 5 December 2015.

How are ECS helping their clients to achieve ESOS compliance?

For anyone affected by ESOS, ECS can guide you through the end to end process to achieve compliance within the timescales.

Our team of qualified project managers have many years of energy management experience and can take the burden of ESOS compliance away from you.

This leaves you free to run your business, confident that your ESOS compliance is being taken care of.

We can reduce the impact on your operation and help you to complete any necessary work within the scheme’s deadlines. ECS will work with you to:

  • Establish whether your organisation is covered by the scheme.
  • Calculate your total energy consumption (kWh or cost £).
  • Identify significant areas of consumption (Buildings, Industrial processes or transport).
  • Review any other qualifying energy audits during the compliance phase.
  • Appoint lead assessor (qualified and approved to carry out and review audits – ECS can do this on your behalf).
  • Carry out the necessary appraisals, report findings, make recommendations and implement energy efficiency measures you decide to adopt.
  • Report compliance to Environment Agency by 5 December.

Phase 1 key dates:

Qualification Date – 31 December 2014

Four Year Compliance Phase – 6 December 2011 – 5 December 2015

Compliance Date – 5 December 2015

ECS can take on as much or as little of the ESOS compliance process as you wish, leaving you free to focus on running your business, safe in the knowledge that you won’t incur fines or penalties for non-compliance.
